First look at Quentin Tarantino’s new revenge western ‘Django Unchained’

The  first official look at Quentin Tarantino’s new  spaghetti southern, Django Unchained, offers a glimpse into the highly-anticipated film.

The images show the two heroes of the film, Jamie Foxx and Oscar-winner Christoph Waltz (Inglourious Bastards), and Leonardo DiCaprio as the evil villain plantation owner named Calvin Candie, “who likes to make his toughest slaves fight to the death in gladiatorial combat.”

Foxx had this to say  in a interview with EW:

“There’s a beautiful way [Tarantino] found for the characters to talk to each other. It’s mindblowing. You’ve never heard it this way. You’ve seen movies deal with slavery — or westerns that never dealt with slavery – do it the safe way. This way is like … wow.”

In short, the film concerns a slave-turned-bounty hunter (Foxx) who, with the help of his mentor (Waltz), sets out to rescue his wife from a brutal Mississippi plantation owner (DiCaprio).

Sounds and looks incredible.

He created tension as thick as curdled milk in an Elmo mug.
