Fraggle Rock’s ‘Doozers’ get their own TV show

Following news that Fraggle Rock is heading to the big screen, Jim Henson Company is giving the “Doozers” (pictured above) their own TV show.

For those unfamiliar with, or having a foggy recollection of, the Doozers, they were the tiny constructors of all down at Fraggle Rock.

The new TV show will be based off the little builders and their love of construction.

In discussion for nearly 3 years, the Doozers TV show will evidently center on eco-friendly themes according to Bleeding Cool News:

In this series, those wee workers known as the Doozers have been cast into the spotlight and will take on their construction work above ground. Moreover, underpinning the show that focuses on a trio of new apprentice Doozers – named Baxter, Puzzlebea and Daze, who learn through teamwork and cooperation – is a curriculum built around green technology and eco consciousness.

Whilst I think a Doozer’s TV show is a great idea with an equally great backstory, modern animation techniques will, in all likelihood, detract from the Doozer’s past greatness.

That said, a show about engineering, teamwork and being eco-friendly should be a great learning experience for children.
