TMZ reports retired NFL star Junior Seau is dead at the age of 43, with police investigating a  shooting in his home:

NFL legend Junior Seau was found dead in his home in Oceanside, CA … and cops are investigating a shooting … multiple law enforcement sources tell TMZ.

Cops are currently at Seau’s home just outside San Diego. Seau was 43-years-old … and leaves behind 3 kids and an ex-wife.

According to the North County Times and 10news of San Diego, Seau committed suicide.

Seau, a 12-time Pro Bowler and 6-time First-Team All-Pro, was selected fifth overall in the 1990 NFL draft after a stand-out collegiate career at USC.

Seau retired in 2010 after a playing with the Chargers, Dolphins and Patriots.

His death makes him the eighth member of the Chargers 1994 Super Bowl team to pass away.
