Single and ready to mingle? Hope to get lucky on that first date after a round of Wendy’s Frosties? As it turns out, there’s a simple predictor of whether another is likely to sleep with someone on the first date according to Psychology Today:

Christian Rudder is a young entrepreneur with a Harvard degree in mathematics, cofounder of a free dating website called OKCupid. The site has been tremendously successful, and has, according to Rudder, produced data on “hundreds of millions” of user interactions, as well as the various dating preferences and social attitudes of those users.

Rudder analyzed millions of answers to the question “Would you consider sleeping with someone on the first date?” The single best predictor of saying “yes” was whether or not the person liked the taste of beer. And this question was a good predictor whether the respondent was a man or a woman, gay or straight.

Get lucky by liking beer. Well, not non-alcoholic beer.
