The scary facts about pets and the 4th of July

PetAmberAlert.com has revealed that more pets are lost around July 4th than any other point during the year.

When kids throw firecrackers around homes and fireworks displays occur in and around neighborhoods, pets become alarmed and often run in search of what they believe to be a safe location.

The numbers indicate just how bad this time of year this can be for pets and their owners: 30% more pets are lost between July 4th and 6th than any other time of year.

Mark Jakubczak, Certified Pet Detective and Founder, PetAmberAlert:

“Sadly, only 14% of lost pets are returned to their owners, according to nationwide statistics. And worse, 30-60% of lost pets are euthanized because they cannot be properly identified and returned to their owners.”

Please protect your pets during this time with these tips and common sense.
