Smell like a sexy new book for only $115
People love new car smell and now can smell like a batch of fresh new books.
Designed by Geza Schoen, Gerhard Steidl, and Wallpaper* magazine, with packaging by Karl Lagerfeld and Steidl, Paper Passion is a $115 fragrance based on the smell of new books:
This is an opportunity to celebrate all the glorious sensuality of books, at a time when many in the industry are turning against them. The idea is that is should relax you, like when you read a book, to a level of meditation and concentration. Paper passion has evolved into something quite beautiful and unique. To wear the smell of a book is something very chic. Books are players in the intellectual world, but also in the world of luxury.
Take it from Karl Lagerfeld, “The smell of a freshly printed book is the best smell in the world.”
I’ve never considered wearing the smell of a book to be “very chic”, or “the best smell in the world”, but to each their own.
What about you? Would you pay $115 to smell like a new book or go the cheap route and roll around on a table at Barnes and Noble?
