Texas Rangers Bullpen Moves on After World Series Collapse

Tyler Kepner, writing for The New York Times:

“The story is not finished yet,” said Michael Young, the longest-tenured Ranger. “For us, it’s a good challenge, and we look forward to it.”

In his first team meeting of training camp, Washington reinforced the theme of moving forward. He gave the players one chance to say whatever they wanted about 2011. Then, with a symbolic flourish, Washington crumpled a piece of paper and tossed it in the trash.

“It wasn’t meant to be,” he said. “If it was meant to be, the Lord would have let it happen. I really believe that. We had it twice, and it got away. I don’t know why we didn’t win it. But that’s all I can think of, and that’s all I ever tell people: it wasn’t meant to be.”

Devastating World Series to watch as a Ranger fan, but know THIS will be the Rangers’ year. Mark it down.
