You can kill Bigfoot in Texas as long as he’s Texan

Great news for Texas Bigfoot hunters: It’s legal to hunt and kill Bigfoot in Texas provided he is a native Texan.

According to FOX News:

“An exotic animal is an animal that is non-indigenous to Texas. Unless the exotic is an endangered species, then exotics may be hunted on private property with landowner consent.”

The law boils down to provenance, Scharf decided. If Bigfoot is indigenous to Texas, it can be killed.

The interpretation of Texas law concerns Bigfoot “fan” John Lloyd Scharf of Oregon:

Oregon resident Scharf worried that the policy could be interpreted as “kill it first, ID it after.” He thinks it could even lead to premature extinction of the Bigfoot species.

As a resident of Texas, I can say no one I’ve spoken with is concerned about the extinction of Bigfoot. Thankfully there are individuals like Scharf who aren’t afraid to stand up and tackle the real issues of the day.
